Following a speech in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, expelled Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Pooja Pal has been at the center of controversy. After her address, she was removed from the party. Subsequently, Pal met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and leveled serious accusations against Akhilesh Yadav, claiming a threat to her life and holding him responsible if anything were to happen. In response to these allegations, Akhilesh Yadav has issued a rebuttal.
Regarding Pooja Pal’s letter, Akhilesh Yadav stated that it is difficult to understand how someone meeting the Chief Minister could feel threatened by a leader from another party. He added that in the current climate, there is a risk of being sent to jail and facing attacks from BJP supporters.
Akhilesh Yadav has written to Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that if someone suspects a threat, an investigation should be conducted to identify those within the organization who pose the threat. He believes this investigation is crucial, as he does not trust the Uttar Pradesh government. He hopes that justice will be ensured, recalling that Pal did not feel threatened during her years with the party.
Previously, Pooja Pal had written a letter accusing Akhilesh Yadav, stating that if she were killed, he would be held responsible. Pal’s expulsion from the SP came after she praised CM Yogi in the assembly, leading to a period of mutual accusations. Speculation also surrounds her political future, with possibilities of her aligning with the BJP.
