A check dam, constructed two years ago near Pahad Toli village in the Karra block, collapsed on Sunday due to heavy rainfall. The failure resulted in the destruction of crops in the fields of several farmers in Pahad Toli village. Farmers allege that the contractor did not properly construct the guard wall during the check dam’s construction, which prevented the structure from withstanding the force of the water. It is also reported that the check dam was built in the wrong location. The farmers of Pahad Toli village are demanding an investigation into the irregularities in the check dam construction and are requesting adequate compensation for their losses.
