The Modi government has appointed Anish Dayal Singh, former DG of CRPF-ITBP, as Deputy NSA. Singh, a retired IPS officer of the 1988 batch from the Manipur cadre, retired last December. He brings nearly 30 years of experience from the Intelligence Bureau to the role. As head of the CRPF, he played several significant roles.
Anish Dayal Singh is a retired IPS officer who, prior to his retirement last year, served as the DG of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He held this position from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Additionally, he was also the DG of ITBP. He has held significant roles in ITBP and the Intelligence Bureau for approximately 30 years.
Born in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (1964), Anish Dayal Singh received training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. During his career, he achieved several milestones. These include strengthening the role of the CRPF in operations against Naxalism and restructuring over 130 battalions of the CRPF.
