The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday morning. The action is related to an alleged hospital construction scam. Bharadwaj is under investigation for his involvement in a scandal concerning the construction of hospitals, estimated to be worth approximately ₹5,590 crore.
In 2018-19, the Delhi government approved projects worth ₹5,590 crore for the construction of 24 hospitals. The initial timeline was set for completion of these hospitals within 6 months, however, work remained unfinished even after 3 years. Several projects are now facing allegations of serious irregularities.
