Ed Kelce, father of Travis Kelce, has provided insights into the proposal of his son to Taylor Swift, revealing details about the proposal’s timing and location. According to Ed, the proposal occurred nearly two weeks prior, confirming a previous report. Initially, Ed mentioned a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, but the actual proposal took place in Travis’s backyard in Leawood, Kansas. The 74-year-old received the news through a phone call from the couple during an Eagles open practice session.
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed shared. He explained that Travis had planned to delay the proposal, perhaps aiming for a grander event, but Ed encouraged him to propose whenever the moment felt right. The family, including Donna Kelce, Andrea Swift, and Scott Swift, were informed via FaceTime. Images of the couple celebrating showed them hugging and kissing, marking the special occasion. Travis presented Taylor with a bespoke engagement ring, a sparkler with an old mine brilliant-cut diamond set in a gold bezel, designed by jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine.
