A wave of outrage has swept through Patna, Bihar, following the murder of a 10-year-old girl. The incident has ignited protests and clashes between residents and authorities. On Thursday afternoon, villagers set fires and blocked the Danapur-Maner main road near Mahinwa village. They placed bricks and drums on the road, causing a traffic jam. Police are attempting to pacify the girl’s family and the villagers, but the family is demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
The body of the 10-year-old girl was discovered hanging from a tree in Maner on Thursday. City SP West Bhanu Pratap and an FSL team arrived at the scene to begin investigations. The girl was a resident of Maner Azad Nagar and had been missing since August 26th. A missing person report had been filed at the Maner police station.
The girl’s family reported that she had gone to collect wood in the west Mahinawa garden of Ratan Tola village on August 26th but never returned home. A search was conducted, but she could not be found. Subsequently, a missing person report was filed at the Maner police station. The police had been searching for her since.

City SP West Bhanu Pratap Singh, who was present at the scene, stated that the body of a 10-year-old girl had been found in a garden in Maner’s Mahinwa. He added that, prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder, with the body having been hanged from a tree. Police will also investigate whether the girl was sexually assaulted.
