Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Japan to participate in the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit. The visit is scheduled for two days. Upon arrival, PM Modi received a warm welcome. He landed at Haneda International Airport at 5:40 AM Indian Standard Time. The schedule includes a business program from 10:30 AM to 10:50 AM, followed by meetings with prominent Japanese dignitaries from 11:30 AM to 1:10 PM. A special presentation of a Daruma doll by the chief priest of the Shorinzan Daruma-ji Temple is scheduled between 1:15 PM and 1:20 PM. The India-Japan Annual Summit will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:15 PM.
This visit is part of a four-day trip to Japan and China, starting Friday. The primary focus is on promoting trade and investment with Japan and normalizing relations with China. The trip occurs amid some strain in India-US relations due to the trade and tariff policies of US President Donald Trump. Before departing, PM Modi expressed hope that the foreign trip would strongly advance the country’s interests and priorities.
