The Asia Cup, scheduled to begin on September 9th in the UAE, will feature eight teams. Team India is set to begin its campaign on September 10th against the UAE. However, cricket fans are eagerly anticipating the match between India and Pakistan on September 14th in Dubai. Amidst calls from some to boycott the match due to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, news has emerged that tickets for the India-Pakistan clash are being sold in the black market for as much as 1.5 million rupees, even before their official launch.
Reports indicate that ticket sales are expected to commence in the next couple of days. The heightened anticipation stems from the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. The Indian government has given the green light for the match to proceed. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Chief Operating Officer, Subhan Ahmad, has cautioned fans against falling prey to dubious websites. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and ECB have issued an alert on social media, advising fans to purchase tickets only from the official website once sales begin.
The ACC has not yet officially announced the Asia Cup tickets, but some fake websites have already started selling them. The prices for tickets to the India-Pakistan match range from 26,256 rupees to a staggering 1.5 million rupees. The ACC is advising cricket fans not to buy tickets from these websites. The two teams are scheduled to meet again on September 21st. A third encounter could occur if both teams qualify for the Asia Cup final on September 28th.
