Indian expatriates in Dubai must adhere to new photo requirements when applying for or renewing their passports, effective September 1st. The Indian Consulate in Dubai has announced that only photographs complying with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards, as of August 25th, will be accepted. This update necessitates that most applicants submit new photos meeting these revised specifications. While previous guidelines offered some flexibility, strict adherence to ICAO standards is now mandatory. These updated measures aim to ensure that passports are machine-readable and universally recognized internationally.
