Pakistan secured their second consecutive victory, triumphing over hosts UAE by 31 runs in a high-scoring T20I encounter. Pakistan established a formidable total of 207 runs, marking their third-highest score in T20Is. Saim Ayub set the stage for the victory with an exceptional performance. The left-handed batsman aggressively targeted UAE’s bowling attack, scoring 69 runs off 38 deliveries.
Following Ayub’s dismissal, Hasan Nawaz continued the momentum, smashing 38 runs off just 22 balls. Despite losing wickets in quick succession, Pakistan’s lower middle order, including Mohammad Nawaz (25), Faheem Ashraf (16), and Hasan Ali (9), ensured a strong finish, accumulating 45 runs in the final overs.
UAE struggled from the outset, heavily relying on their captain, Muhammad Waseem, who contributed 33 runs. Beyond Waseem, wickets fell rapidly, and Pakistan’s spin attack, spearheaded by Nawaz and Ayub, exerted its dominance. The bowlers limited UAE to a score of 176.
Asif Khan stood out as the sole performer for UAE, displaying resilience by scoring 77 runs off 35 balls and improving UAE’s net run rate.
