Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his first visit to China in seven years, coinciding with the SCO meeting. The meeting took place in Tianjin, where PM Modi shared significant updates on the relationship between China and India.
During the meeting, PM Modi highlighted the positive direction their relationship has taken since their last fruitful discussion in Kazan. He noted the improved atmosphere of peace and stability following disengagement on the border. He also mentioned that agreements have been reached by Special Representatives concerning border management. Furthermore, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been resumed, and direct flights between the two countries are being reinstated. PM Modi emphasized that their collaboration benefits the 2.8 billion people of both nations and contributes to the welfare of all of humanity. He expressed commitment to advancing their relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and sensitivity.
