The Indian EV market is witnessing continuous innovation. Companies are enhancing their products through research and development. Ather Energy, a prominent EV manufacturer, has upgraded its premium 450 Apex electric scooter with a new Infinity Cruise Control system. This updated version was showcased at the Ather Community Day 2025 in Bengaluru. All new units of the 2025 Ather 450 Apex will feature this, while existing customers will receive it via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update.
**What is Infinity Cruise?**
Infinity Cruise is Ather’s advanced cruise control system, designed specifically for Indian roads and traffic conditions. It offers three modes: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control.
**City Cruise:** Maintains a consistent speed on city roads, functioning from low speeds up to 90 km/h. It doesn’t disengage upon braking or speed changes, automatically adjusting to the new speed.
**Hill Cruise:** Facilitates easy climbing on hilly terrains. It uses the Magic Braking System (which also activates Magic Twist) on descents, allowing the scooter to maintain a constant speed through regenerative braking.
**Crawl Control:** Enables smooth operation at low speeds (10 km/h) on rough or uneven roads. It also includes Multimode Traction Control, ensuring stability on wet or slippery surfaces.
**Battery and Range**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex retains its mechanical specifications. It features the same 3.7kWh battery pack, providing a range of 157km on a full charge. Its 7kW motor delivers 9.39bhp of power and 26Nm of torque. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 100 km/h. It offers a total of five riding modes, including Wrap+.
**Features**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is a premium electric scooter available in a single variant. It has an ex-showroom price of approximately ₹1.90 lakh. The scooter’s design maintains a minimalist aesthetic. It includes features such as a 7-inch TFT screen and Google Maps navigation. The scooter also provides 34-liter under-seat storage and 22-liter front storage space. In the Indian market, it competes with electric two-wheelers like Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube ST, River Indie, Revolt RV400, Ultraviolette Tesseract, and Oben Rorr.
