Jannik Sinner showcased his prowess at the 2025 US Open, securing a spot in the round of 16 with a victory over Canadian Denis Shapovalov. The match concluded with a score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. While Shapovalov managed to interrupt Sinner’s impressive streak of consecutive hard court set wins, Sinner quickly regained control, displaying his usual command and agility as the match progressed. This win also marked Sinner’s 20th career victory at the US Open, establishing a new personal best. At 24 years old, the Italian has now achieved 20 wins at each of the four Grand Slam tournaments, becoming the fourth youngest player to accomplish this feat, joining the ranks of tennis legends like Rafael Nadal, Boris Becker, and Novak Djokovic. Sinner is set to face Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan in the Round of 16, the only player besides Carlos Alcaraz to have defeated him since August 2024. In his recent match, defending champion and world No. 1 Jannik Sinner solidified his place in the fourth round after a hard-fought four-set win against 27th seed Denis Shapovalov on August 30th. Sinner overcame a slow start to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, and extended his hardcourt major winning streak to an impressive 24 matches.
