The United States, facing recent trade tensions with India due to imposed tariffs, has taken steps to underscore the strength of their relationship. The US Embassy in India issued a statement describing the India-US partnership as a defining element of the 21st century. This message coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China. The embassy’s post on X highlighted the progress and possibilities driving the partnership, spanning innovation, entrepreneurship, defense, and bilateral ties, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two nations. The post also referenced a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, reinforcing the importance of the relationship. Concurrently, Prime Minister Modi described his discussions with President Putin as ‘excellent,’ covering ways to deepen bilateral cooperation across sectors, including trade, fertilizers, space, security, and culture, while also addressing the situation in Ukraine. The meeting reinforced the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries, according to an Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.
