Manoj Jarange Patil has been on a hunger strike at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan for the past four days, demanding reservation for Marathas. The Bombay High Court has instructed the evacuation of Azad Maidan by 3 PM today. The court was informed by the government that it would act according to the law. The High Court noted that the protesters did not have permission for the demonstration. The court stated that permission was granted for 5,000 people, and questioned the actions taken. The court inquired about the measures taken when it became aware of the presence of 60,000 to 100,000 people in the city. Advocate Satish Maneshinde, representing the Maratha protesters, mentioned that they had appealed through the media for people to leave the city and park vehicles in designated locations. The court also stated that it would inquire with the state government about its actions. If the area is not vacated by 3 PM, the court will take action. The lawyer responded that they had received the notice today and were taking necessary steps. The court also expressed concerns about public fear and people dancing in the streets.
