Minister H.K. Patil announced that the judicial commission investigating the MUDA scam has exonerated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family. The commission, led by P.N. Desai, found no wrongdoing by the CM in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) matter. Patil also stated the cabinet has agreed to recommend action against officials involved in the case, with further discussion planned for the next cabinet meeting. The allegations concerned the allotment of 14 plots to Siddaramaiah’s wife in 2021, located in Mysuru’s Vijayanagara area, potentially linked to the acquisition of land owned by Parvathi by MUDA. The state cabinet will recommend to the State Election Commission to use ballot papers instead of EVMs for local body elections, citing concerns about the credibility of voter lists and the reliability of EVMs.
