Citroen India has expanded its lineup with the new Basalt X variant. The new Citroen Basalt X is priced at ₹ 12.90 lakh and features several powerful features, along with slight styling changes. The Basalt X is available in multiple engine options and trim levels. The new Basalt X has been updated with a new dashboard layout. The top variant gets a new dual-tone theme of beige and black made of new and premium materials.
This model also includes features like all-LED headlamps, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a perimeter alarm, and a new Cara in-car assistant. Cara also has a voice command feature and can simplify tasks related to navigation, service history, route selection, and points of interest. Citroen has also announced that it plans to expand its dealer network from 88 to 150 soon.
The Basalt X’s U variant has a 1.2 petrol engine and is priced at ₹ 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Plus variant offers the option of a 1.2 petrol engine and a 1.2 petrol turbo engine, priced at ₹ 9.42 lakh and ₹ 10.82 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec Max+ variant of the Citroen Basalt X comes with a 1.2 petrol turbo engine option with manual and automatic transmissions, priced at ₹ 11.62 lakh and ₹ 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new Citroen Basalt X features cruise control, an engine start/stop button, and leather finish on the dashboard. This SUV will also get keyless entry, an optional 360-degree camera, and a new Garnet Red exterior shade. In terms of other features, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. This car will directly compete with Creta, Seltos, and Vitara.
It also includes a 7-inch color TFT digital display, automatic climate control, and wireless charging. In terms of safety, the Citroen Basalt X has six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ESP, a tire pressure monitoring system, and other features. The Citroen Basalt X has a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 108 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque, paired with a manual gearbox, which goes up to 205 Nm with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
