Team India will enter the Asia Cup 2025 without a jersey sponsor, a departure from the norm in modern cricket. The announcement was made public through images shared by Shivam Dube, who showcased the new kit on Instagram. The jersey features only “INDIA” across the chest and the Asia Cup 2025 tournament logo, with the space usually reserved for a sponsor conspicuously blank. This follows the end of the BCCI’s sponsorship deal with Dream11. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently seeking a new lead sponsor, with applications open and bids due in mid-September. The BCCI is taking extra precautions to avoid issues encountered during the Dream11 partnership, including a list of banned categories to ensure alignment with its guidelines. India is in Group A of the Asia Cup, alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, with their campaign beginning on September 10 against UAE, followed by a match against Pakistan on September 14. Whether this is a temporary situation or a shift in commercial approach remains to be seen.
