Hyundai Motor India has revealed plans to pass on the benefits of recent GST reforms to its customers. This will result in significant price reductions across its passenger vehicle lineup. These new prices will come into effect starting September 22, coinciding with the upcoming festive season. The price cuts will reach up to Rs 2.4 lakh, with the Hyundai Tucson seeing the most substantial decrease, a price reduction of Rs 2,40,303. Other popular Hyundai models, including the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, Exter, i20, Venue, Verna, Creta, and Alcazar, will also experience price drops ranging from approximately Rs 60,000 to over Rs 1.2 lakh. The company anticipates these changes will enhance customer interest and drive sales during the festive period. The GST reforms, announced during the 56th GST Council meeting, include a reduction in GST for smaller cars (under four meters in length with engines up to 1,200cc petrol or 1,500cc diesel) to 18% from the previous 28%. Larger vehicles with larger engines will now have a standard GST of 40% without the additional cess previously applied.
