Tata Motors is planning to double its petrol model offerings to maintain market dominance and attract budget-conscious customers. The company is gearing up to launch four new petrol cars in the Indian market this fiscal year, providing customers with more affordable options across both budget and premium segments.
Tata Punch facelift: The Tata Punch, already a top-selling car, is expected to receive a facelift in October. This updated model will feature a redesigned bumper, grill, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior may also see significant changes, including a new digital instrument cluster.
Tata Harrier: The Tata Harrier is likely to be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, capable of producing 168hp and 280Nm of torque. Its launch is anticipated between January and March. Tata Motors may offer this SUV with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Tata Sierra: The launch of the Tata Sierra is expected early next year. Tata Motors may offer this car with two petrol engine options. A 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine variant could deliver 168hp and 280 Nm of torque. There might also be a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated version for customers prioritizing fuel efficiency and affordability. Both engines are expected to come with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic transmission likely to be available at least in the turbocharged engine version.
Tata Safari: The SUV is expected to be launched between January and March, with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This is a three-row model with 6 and 7 seating options, and it remains to be seen if the power and torque will be adequate.
