The excitement surrounding the new iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, has been tempered by the prices. While the standard iPhone 17 is priced at Rs 82,900, the Pro model costs Rs 1,34,900, and the Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,49,900. This has led consumers to investigate potential cost savings, with Dubai emerging as a point of interest.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,49,900 in India. However, the Dubai variant costs 5,099 AED, which converts to approximately Rs 1,22,500. This means the iPhone 17 Pro Max is about Rs 27,400 cheaper in Dubai. However, a round trip from Delhi to Dubai costs roughly Rs 22,619, reducing the savings to only around Rs 4,800 when factoring in the travel expenses.
Furthermore, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is significantly cheaper in some other countries. According to reports, the price difference can be as high as Rs 34,300 in certain locations. Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan also offer lower prices. The American variant is also less expensive, but pricing varies depending on local tax rates.
Given these factors, planning a trip solely to purchase the new iPhone may not be financially advantageous, as the associated costs could outweigh the benefits of a lower price.
