A prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was murdered in Patna, Bihar, challenging the law and order situation in the capital. The incident occurred in the Munna Chak area under the jurisdiction of the Chitragupta Nagar police station. The victim, identified as Rajkumar Rai, also known as Alla Rai, was shot multiple times by assailants riding a motorcycle. Police arrived at the scene promptly, securing the body and initiating an investigation, including a post-mortem examination. The attack took place late Wednesday night as Rai was returning home in his vehicle. He stopped to purchase food from a hotel in a local alley when two individuals on a motorcycle, who had been lying in wait, opened fire. Rai sustained six gunshot wounds. The perpetrators fled the scene after carrying out the murder. Rai was preparing to contest the upcoming assembly elections from Raghopur. He was a resident of Raghopur in the Vaishali district but resided in Munna Chak. Rai was actively involved in politics and affiliated with the RJD party. The police have deployed additional forces in the area to maintain order. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area as part of their investigation. Local residents expressed their concern about the increasing audacity of criminals and demanded swift action from the administration. Police are conducting raids to identify and apprehend the suspects.
