A shocking incident has come to light in the Chatra district of Jharkhand, where a man was brutally murdered by a group of individuals who suspected him of practicing witchcraft. The assailants first severed the victim’s tongue with a sharp weapon, then beat him to death with sticks and other blunt objects. After the murder, they set the body on fire. The deceased has been identified as Dharmdev Uraon. The incident occurred in Khuntitola village, under the jurisdiction of the Tandwa police station. Upon receiving information about the murder, the police rushed to the village, but all the accused had already fled. Police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrators. The motive appears to be revenge for the death of a young man who lived in the neighborhood of Dharmdev Uraon some months ago. The young man’s family blamed Uraon for his death, accusing him of practicing black magic on their son. It is believed that the accused killed Dharmdev Uraon to avenge that death. Preliminary investigations indicate that around half a dozen people were involved in the crime.
