Pakistan’s head coach, Mike Hesson, has urged his players to maintain focus and composure ahead of their highly anticipated match against India on September 14th. This encounter marks the first official meeting between the two nations following the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a press conference, Hesson emphasized the importance of remaining grounded amidst the considerable tensions and emotional weight surrounding the game. Before the India match, Pakistan will play against Oman on Friday, September 12th. While their opening match is crucial, all eyes are already on the India game, which is expected to fill the Dubai International Stadium and draw hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide. “We know that India are obviously hugely confident and rightfully so in terms of how well they’ve played,” Hesson stated. “Look, I’ve certainly watched many games from afar, so certainly being on the other side of the fence, I guess, being right and amongst such a highly charged event is going to be exciting,” Mike added. He further noted, “We’re very much focused on improving as a team, sort of day by day, and not getting too far ahead of ourselves.”
The Group A of the tournament comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
