Preparations are underway for the fourth season of the SA20 T20 league in South Africa, with teams intensifying their efforts. A recent auction in Johannesburg witnessed significant spending and record-breaking bids. Following the auction, team squads have undergone considerable changes, leading to the selection of new captains for some teams. After Sunrisers Eastern Cape named Tristan Stubbs as captain, Durban Super Giants has announced their new leader.
Durban Super Giants has appointed South African batsman and current T20 International captain, Aiden Markram, to lead their team for the upcoming 2025-26 SA20 season. Markram, who previously played for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the first three seasons of the league, captained the team to two SA20 titles. He parted ways with his former team and entered the auction, where Durban Super Giants secured him. This marks a significant turn in Markram’s career.

Durban Super Giants secured him for a record sum of 7 crore rupees, momentarily the highest bid of the SA20. However, South African star batsman Dewald Brevis later surpassed this record.
