The family of Bollywood actress Disha Patani is shaken after an incident where shots were fired at their home in Bareilly. Two individuals on a motorcycle carried out the act on Friday morning. Thankfully, no one was injured in the shooting. Reports indicate that Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, a former Army officer, was accused of disrespecting Saint Premanand Ji Maharaj and storyteller Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. A gangster, Rohit Godara, has claimed responsibility for the incident on social media.
Disha and Khushboo’s father, Jagdish Patani, refuted the allegations against his daughter and shared his account of the firing. Speaking with TV9, Jagdish revealed that his life was in danger during the event, with the attackers pointing a pistol at him. He managed to escape the situation.
Jagdish described that he was present at home when the firing occurred. He explained that the family dogs alerted him to the presence of someone. When he opened the door, he saw two individuals. Upon asking who they were, they aimed a gun at him. He quickly took cover behind a wall. He believes they used a foreign pistol, firing around 10 to 12 rounds. The attackers then fled on their vehicle, and he subsequently informed the police.
Regarding the gangster’s claim of responsibility, Jagdish stated that he couldn’t comment on the gang’s involvement and that anyone could make such claims in the media. He added that he would wait for the police to conclude their investigation.
When questioned about Khushboo’s alleged disrespect towards the saints, Jagdish clarified that his daughter had responded to Aniruddhacharya Ji’s comments about women, expressing her disagreement. This, he said, was being used to defame them.
Jagdish added that the police have been very cooperative. He acknowledged the fear, but stated that he is used to such situations. He appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to prevent such incidents from happening again and to ensure strict legal action against the perpetrators.
