In a ‘TV-9 Digital Meeting’ held in Gaya, Bihar, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, former Chief Minister and head of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), Jitan Ram Manjhi, participated. During the discussion, he responded to questions about the possibility of a resurgence of Lalu Prasad Yadav and whether current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was losing momentum. Manjhi stated that those who find fault in others have a distorted perspective. Regarding Nitish Kumar, he quoted the saying, ‘As is one’s feeling, so does one see the Lord,’ emphasizing Kumar’s long tenure and progress in Bihar. Manjhi, a veteran of the assembly, highlighted the transformative changes in Bihar’s electricity sector since his early days as a legislator, crediting Nitish Kumar for the advancements.
On the issue of seat sharing, Manjhi denied any discontent within his party in the NDA, dismissing such reports as media creations. He asserted the NDA’s unity, giving the example of the Lok Sabha elections where he was promised two seats and a Rajya Sabha seat but only received one. He acknowledged Narendra Modi’s appreciation for allocating a member of his party to the MSME department. Manjhi subtly hinted at his desire for more seats, stating that his party, founded in 2025, deserves recognition and seats accordingly. He refrained from specifying the exact number of seats, cryptically stating, “Don’t lift the curtain, let it remain, if the curtain is lifted, the secret will be revealed.”
