Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth over ₹40,000 crore in Purnia, Bihar. This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who highlighted the Prime Minister’s history of providing economic packages and launching significant projects during his visits to the state. The event is scheduled for Monday, September 15th. A key highlight will be the inauguration of the interim terminal building at Purnia Airport, marking the beginning of commercial flights from the airport. This will enhance connectivity for the Seemanchal region. The Prime Minister previously granted a special economic package of ₹1.65 lakh crore to Bihar in 2015 and has visited the state over 50 times. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several projects, including an STP and I&D under the Namami Gange program in Bhagalpur, a sex-sorted semen production center in Purnia, and a new railway line from Araria to Galgali. The new terminal at Purnia Airport will significantly improve air connectivity in Bihar, which has the state’s largest runway. The Prime Minister will also introduce modern semen facilities for farmers and livestock owners in Seemanchal.
