Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar’s Purnea district, where he will address a public gathering and initiate development projects valued at ₹36,000 crore. A significant aspect of the visit involves the inauguration of a new airport terminal in the northern region of Bihar, addressing a long-standing need for enhanced air connectivity. Another key initiative will be the establishment of the National Makhana Board, which was announced in the Union Budget 2025. This board aims to stimulate Makhana production, facilitate the adoption of new technologies, improve processing techniques, boost exports, and ultimately benefit Makhana farmers across Bihar and the rest of India.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will participate in Griha Pravesh ceremonies for over 40,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and distribute ₹500 crore to women’s self-help groups under the DAY-NRLM program. Security measures have been heightened, with restrictions on vehicular movement on national and state highways in effect for 24 hours, beginning from midnight Sunday.
