Jagadguru Swami Ramabhadracharya has sparked debate with his recent statements during a Ramkatha in Victoria Park, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The discourse, which began on September 8th, saw Ramabhadracharya commenting on women’s rights and the education system. He asserted that Hinduism is the only religion where women are revered as goddesses, contrasting this with other religions where women are referred to as ‘baby’ or ‘wife’. Ramabhadracharya also criticized Islam, stating that women are mistreated there, citing practices like multiple childbirths followed by triple talaq. He contrasted this with Hindu traditions, where mothers are given a higher status than fathers. He also criticized convent schools, urging parents to enroll their children in schools that promote cultural values. He advocated for the importance of raising children, regardless of their gender, with proper values. Furthermore, Ramabhadracharya addressed the 33% reservation for women in Parliament, arguing that women should have more rights than men, claiming that the tradition of giving women a high status in society originated in Hinduism. These statements have ignited a strong reaction among the public.
