A grand ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Patna, organized by the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission under the chairmanship of Minister of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Janak Ram, to provide Vikas Mitras with the benefits of various facilities linked to bank accounts under a corporate package.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department; Mission Director, Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission; representatives of the State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank; Regional Deputy Directors (Welfare); all District Welfare Officers; departmental officials; and District Coordinators, Vikas Mitras.
**Special Corporate Package for Vikas Mitras**
During the program, representatives from the State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank presented details of a special corporate package for Vikas Mitras through a PPT. This package includes various facilities such as insurance, health, group life insurance, accident coverage, financial assistance for children’s education after death, and financial aid for daughters’ marriages.
The main highlight of the ceremony was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission and both banks. All the guests present hailed this as a historic step towards the social and economic security of Vikas Mitras.
**Golden Opportunity for Vikas Mitras**
Minister of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Janak Ram, called this a golden opportunity for Vikas Mitras and thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for providing such an opportunity. He stated that the Bihar government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, is continuously working for the development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes families. Vikas Mitras play a crucial role in delivering government schemes to Scheduled Caste/Tribe settlements. Providing the corporate package to Vikas Mitras will boost their morale, and they will work with double the enthusiasm.
**Camp to be Organized on September 27th**
The Minister also thanked Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha on this occasion. Further plans were also discussed in detail during the program. The Secretary, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, directed that a camp be organized in each block on September 27th to link the accounts of all Vikas Mitras under this package.
In the end, the Mission Director thanked all the guests, bank representatives, Regional Deputy Directors, District Welfare Officers, Vikas Mitras, and media personnel, expressing confidence that this initiative will further strengthen the empowerment of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes community.
