Several highly anticipated films released in 2025 failed to meet expectations, resulting in significant financial losses for their creators. ‘War 2,’ a much-awaited installment in the YRF Spy Universe starring Hrithik Roshan, underperformed despite high anticipation. The film, with a budget of 400 crore, only managed to earn 237 crore in India and 365 crore worldwide. Similarly, ‘Son of Sardaar 2,’ the sequel to the successful film starring Ajay Devgn, failed to replicate its predecessor’s success. With a reported budget of 100-150 crore, the film only made 46 crore in India. ‘Sikandar,’ starring Salman Khan, also faced disappointment. Despite high hopes, the film, made with a budget of 200-250 crore, could only collect 100 crore in India, causing major losses for producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Other notable flops include ‘Emergency,’ starring Kangana Ranaut, which, despite a budget of 60 crore, only earned a worldwide collection of 23.81 crore. ‘Game Changer,’ one of the most expensive South Indian films of the year starring Ram Charan, also underperformed, earning 186 crore worldwide against a budget of 400-450 crore.
