The ex-gratia amount for the wives or dependents of soldiers martyred in war and military operations has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. Additionally, the amount given to soldiers who have received various gallantry awards in war and military operations has also been increased. Now, soldiers who are recipients of the Param Vir Chakra will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore, up from Rs 40 lakh. This significant decision was made at the State Military Board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
The 6th State Military Committee meeting of the Department of Soldier Welfare was held today at Mahanadi Bhawan in the Ministry, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai stated that our soldiers sacrifice their lives for the security of the country. The government is always committed to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. Discussions were held at the meeting on various welfare schemes run by the state for the Veer Naris (war widows), ex-servicemen, widows, and their dependents.
