A Spirit Airlines passenger plane narrowly avoided a collision with the Boeing 747 carrying US President Donald Trump to London on Tuesday while traversing the busy New York airspace. Air traffic controllers intervened, urgently instructing the pilots of Spirit Flight 1300 to alter their course away from Air Force One over Long Island. The incident involved Air Force One and Spirit Flight 1300, an Airbus A321 aircraft, which was traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. An air traffic controller recognized the converging flight paths and similar altitudes of the aircraft, prompting immediate communication to the Spirit pilots to change direction.
