Shreyas Iyer’s poor form with the bat continued as he struggled against Australia A in a recent unofficial Test match. Iyer, hoping to regain his place in the Indian team, was dismissed after scoring just 8 runs off 13 balls by Australian spinner Corey Rocchichiolli. This disappointing performance came on the heels of his struggles in the Duleep Trophy, where he managed scores of only 25 and 12 in the semi-final. However, despite Iyer’s failure, four Indian batsmen shone with impressive half-centuries, propelling India A towards a strong score, nearing 400 runs. Wicketkeeper Narayan Jagadeesan scored 64 runs, while Sai Sudarshan contributed 73 runs. Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel also played substantial innings, with Jurel nearing a century at the time of reporting. Australia A had earlier posted a formidable first-innings score of 532 runs for six wickets declared, with two batsmen hitting centuries.
