Police received information about the incident at Girwa Ghat. Responding officers, with the help of divers, entered the water. Despite the dangerous current, they managed to reach the young man. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Rahul, a resident of Kashi Nagar, and explained his relationship with a girl from Atal Awas in Maharana Pratap Nagar. They wished to marry, but her family disapproved. Faced with this rejection, they decided to end their lives by jumping into the Hasdev River.
According to Rahul, divers were unable to reach the young woman who jumped with him. Her whereabouts and condition remain unknown.
