A major incident occurred in the Palghar district of Maharashtra on Thursday. A powerful explosion took place at the Limbani Salt Industries company in JP Udyognagar during a chemical process. One worker died in the blast, and four others were seriously injured. The explosion caused panic, with chaos erupting throughout the area. The injured workers were admitted to the nearby Dhawale Hospital. Rescue operations are ongoing. The explosion occurred at the Limbani Salt Industries, located on Manor Road in Palghar, during a chemical processing operation. Five people were working in the unit at the time of the incident. Deepak (38), a resident of Shiroli, died on the spot. Suresh Kom (55) sustained burn injuries on his back, and Dinesh Gadag (40) suffered serious facial injuries; both are in critical condition. The other two workers, Laxman Mandal (60) and Santosh Tare (51), sustained minor injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the explosion was so loud that it caused terror in the surrounding areas. Upon receiving the information, the police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation. Initial investigations suggest that the incident may have been caused by a lapse in safety standards during the chemical reaction. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Local residents and worker organizations have accused the company management of negligence in safety. Locals claim that adequate safety measures are not implemented in the factory, which leads to such incidents. The matter is currently under investigation.
