The final group stage match of the 2025 Asia Cup will feature a clash between the Indian cricket team and Oman. The two teams are set to face each other at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Having already secured their spot in the Super-4 stage, this match is expected to serve as a practice game for the Indian team. Oman, on the other hand, has been eliminated from the Super-4 race. Consequently, significant changes in India’s playing 11 are anticipated, as indicated during the optional practice session. During an optional practice session held before the final group stage match, only nine players from the squad participated, with players focused on fine-tuning their preparations. However, key players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma were notably absent. The absence of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, who usually attend optional practice sessions, raised further speculation about the team’s lineup for the upcoming game. Young fast bowler Harshit Rana drew attention during the session, showcasing his skills in both bowling and batting. His dedication suggests a potential opportunity to be included in the playing 11 against Oman. This tournament could provide a significant platform for him, as he hasn’t yet played in any matches. In addition to Rana, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh also worked on refining his bowling skills. Singh, India’s most successful T20I bowler, has yet to play in the tournament. With the possibility of Jasprit Bumrah being rested against Oman, Singh could be the team’s first choice. Batsmen Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma were also seen practicing diligently.
