A search operation is underway in multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, in connection with a case related to terrorism. The raids are being conducted by the Counter-Intelligence Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Authorities have confirmed that the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) is searching eight locations in the valley as part of the ongoing investigation. The targeted areas include Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama, and Shopian districts. These raids are taking place following warrants issued by a competent court, linked to First Information Report (FIR) number 3/2023.
Prior to this, the Counter-Intelligence Wing has conducted similar raids. In July, search operations were carried out simultaneously in several locations. The army and police in Jammu and Kashmir have been actively working to dismantle terrorist networks for an extended period. Numerous search operations and attempts to infiltrate have been thwarted in various areas of the valley. Police are currently investigating the individuals’ contacts and bases their operations on their activities. Previous raids had revealed suspected connections with various terrorists, including Abdullah Ghazi, a leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba/Jaish-e-Mohammed.
In a separate development, Udhampur police conducted a major raid on a spa center. Several men and women were taken into custody during the operation. The raid took place at a spa center in Ward Number 5, Badia, Udhampur. The operation lasted approximately four hours and involved a significant number of police personnel and senior officers. Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the matter. Local residents have expressed their approval of the police action.
