During a ‘digital meeting’ organized by TV9 in Purnia, Bihar, ahead of the assembly elections, JDU leader and state minister Leshi Singh participated. She is the MLA from the Dhamdaha assembly seat. She was asked if remaining with the BJP on the Waqf law would create difficulties for the JDU in Seemanchal. Singh replied that she approaches the public based on the work done.
Regarding the Waqf law, she stated that the government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have worked with impartiality and justice in Bihar. Looking at the Purnia region, the Chief Minister has never been biased. Development has been consistently carried out for everyone; therefore, they go to the public and seek votes based on their work. They also receive support from the people.
Singh also criticized Tejashwi Yadav, commenting on his close association with ‘Bahubali,’ stating that those whose job is to make allegations will do so, but there is no truth in it. She mentioned that they work day and night for the people, and every poor person comes directly to them, believing that the administration works for everyone. This is not the previous government, where special treatment was given to the privileged and different treatment to the common people. Justice is served in their government, and in a democracy, the public is the owner and judge.
Regarding RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s inspection of the Purnia Medical College, she said that if Tejashwi had examined the hospital’s condition when he was the Health Minister, people would have believed that he wanted to improve health services. She added that he came to do politics. As the Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi is a responsible person. He did not even inform the hospital administration. All the arrangements were fine when he was there, but everything went wrong when he left. Those who were with the patients in the hospital were also counted as patients.
When asked why the JDU is weakening in the Purnia region, Minister Leshi Singh said that victories and defeats occur in elections, but they are not disheartened. Instead, they strive to improve. They will further try to win the hearts of the people in the upcoming assembly elections. There are many factors in elections. They are preparing vigorously for the future and expect good performance in the Purnia region.
