Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched ‘Mission Shakti-5.0’ in Lucknow, marking the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance women’s safety, education, and nutrition since 2017. The initiative aims to further empower women and girls, building on the progress made in previous phases. Adityanath highlighted the positive shift from a climate of insecurity to one of empowerment, attributing this change to sustained government action against criminal elements. He also emphasized improvements in Anganwadi centers, which now provide nutritious meals, and the provision of tablets for girls pursuing higher education. The new phase of Mission Shakti is scheduled to commence on September 22, coinciding with Sharadiya Navratri, and will continue for a month. The government is committed to expanding the impact of the program through enhanced interdepartmental collaboration and increased police presence on the roads.
