The Russia-Ukraine war has been ongoing for over three years, and the possibility of the conflict spreading throughout Europe has increased. The war is no longer solely between Ukraine and Russia, as other countries’ military forces have become involved. For the past three years, the United States and European countries have been providing economic aid and weapons to Ukraine, but now the armed forces of these countries have also entered the fray against Ukraine.
Russian drones have begun to infiltrate the borders of European countries. According to Sky News, two British fighter jets conducted their first defense mission over Poland following the intrusion of Russian drones into Polish airspace. Prior to this operation, former Defence Secretary John Healey stated that when there is a threat, they respond together. This signifies that European countries are activating their NATO mode for each other’s security, meaning an attack on one country is considered an attack on every NATO member.
British fighter jets flew under NATO’s Operation Eastern Centry. The operation was launched to strengthen the eastern part of Europe after Poland shot down Russian drones.
