In Dumka district of Jharkhand, a son-in-law has been arrested for allegedly beating his father-in-law to death. The incident occurred after the son-in-law demanded a tractor as dowry, a demand that was unmet. The local police were immediately informed and arrived at the scene. They took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The accused son-in-law has been arrested, and an investigation has been launched. The family of the deceased is in mourning.
The incident took place in Kadiya Tola, a village within the Saraiyahat police station area of Dumka district. According to reports, the father-in-law, Ravindra Kapri, had gone to visit his daughter in Kadiya Tola after learning she was unwell. Upon his arrival, a dispute erupted between him and his son-in-law, Sudhir Yadav, over the dowry demand for a tractor.
Ravindra Kapri owned three tractors, and Sudhir was insisting on receiving one as dowry. The father-in-law refused to give the tractor, which led to a heated argument. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation, with the son-in-law beating Ravindra with sticks, severely injuring him. Ravindra was subsequently referred to the Sadar Hospital in Deoghar, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, the police were notified and arrived at the scene to investigate. Sudhir Yadav has been arrested by the Saraiyahat police station on charges of murdering his father-in-law.
