The Bihar government has launched a major initiative to connect villages with cities and strengthen rural infrastructure. Under the ambitious Mukhyamantri Gramin Setu Yojana, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a total of 703 new bridges were approved across the state in the current financial year, 2025-26. Construction began on September 15th. The project will involve an expenditure of approximately 3,688 crore rupees, benefiting thousands of villages by providing them with permanent and safe road connectivity, thereby easing travel.
