Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajkumar Rai was fatally shot in Patna on Wednesday night. The incident took place around 10 PM near Rajendra Nagar Terminal. According to initial reports, Rai was attacked near his residence. The assailants were captured on CCTV footage, prompting a thorough investigation by the police. Rai, who was politically active and involved in property dealings, was rushed to a hospital after the shooting but succumbed to his injuries. Patna East SP Parichay Kumar confirmed the shooting, stating that the victim was identified as Rajkumar alias Ala Rai. The investigation encompasses all angles to determine the cause of the attack. Rai was shot near his car, and despite managing to enter a nearby shop after being shot, he died on the way to the hospital. The attackers followed him into the shop and fired multiple shots. Police recovered six shells from the scene.
