Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his warm wishes to the nation as the nine-day Navratri festival commenced on September 22. He highlighted the significance of the day, marking the worship of Goddess Shailputri on the first day of Navratri. The Prime Minister expressed his hopes for everyone’s prosperity and well-being. Navratri, a festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine forms, holds immense religious and cultural importance in India.
“Today, during Navratri, is the special day for the worship and rituals of Mother Shailputri. My wish is that, with the Mother’s affection and blessings, everyone’s life may be filled with good fortune and good health,” PM Modi wrote on X.
In a separate post, PM Modi lauded the GST reforms as the ‘GST Bachat Utsav,’ effective from the same day. He urged citizens to unite in fulfilling the vision of a developed and self-reliant India. “This time, this auspicious occasion of Navratri is very special. Along with the GST Bachat Utsav, the mantra of Swadeshi is going to receive new energy during this period. Let us come together in collective efforts for the fulfilment of the resolve for a developed and self-reliant India,” PM Modi added.
Earlier, PM Modi, in his address to the nation, conveyed his best wishes for Navratri. He emphasized the importance of the occasion and mentioned that the country would take a significant step towards building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat from the festival’s first day. He declared that the Next-Generation GST reforms would be implemented with the sunrise on the first day of Navratri, signifying a new phase in India’s economic transformation.
“From tomorrow, the festival of Navratri is starting. I extend my best wishes to you. From the first day of Navratri, the country is taking an important step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Tomorrow, on the first day of Navratri, Next-Generation GST reforms will come into effect with sunrise,” PM Modi stated.
