The Jharkhand government will provide hostel facilities in Delhi for students from the state preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. This announcement was made by the state’s Welfare Minister, Chamra Linda. Minister Linda was the chief guest at a cultural dance competition organized by the Tribal Society at St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. During his address, he stated that this decision was inspired by an initiative of the Meena community. He explained that officials from the Meena community had constructed a building in the Dwarka area of Delhi for students of their community, and this served as an inspiration for the Jharkhand government to take this step.
He emphasized the need to increase the representation of tribal youth in top services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), as senior administrative officers, along with ministers, play a crucial role in shaping the direction of the state’s development. The minister urged the youth to strive forward and develop their potential through education. He added that the government is making every possible effort for the upliftment of the tribal community.
