A new 30-kilometer expressway project has been approved by the central government to improve road connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region. This expressway will link Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida with the forthcoming Jewar International Airport. The new road will run parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, connecting Pashta Road to both the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway. The proposal originated with Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed support for the project. Gadkari emphasized the importance of direct road links to maximize Jewar Airport’s potential during a tree-planting event at the airport site. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will execute the project, with funding assured. This project is part of broader infrastructure development plans in the Delhi-NCR region. Gadkari indicated that numerous other projects, totaling ₹1.2 lakh crore, are underway, with half already completed. Furthermore, the central government is prepared to invest an additional ₹40,000-50,000 crore for infrastructure upgrades.
