Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajkumar Rai was fatally shot in Patna on Wednesday night, initiating a police investigation. The incident occurred around 10 PM near Rajendra Nagar Terminal. According to the police, Rai, also known as Ala Rai, was targeted in lane number seventeen. The suspects were captured on CCTV footage. Rai, known for his political activity and involvement in land dealings, managed to enter a nearby shop after being shot but succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The police are exploring all potential motives and angles related to the crime. Rai was reportedly ambushed near his residence, with assailants opening fire. He sought refuge in a hotel, but the attackers pursued him, firing additional shots, one of which struck the hotel’s refrigerator, shattering its glass. Police arrived at the scene and transported Rai to PMCH, where he was declared dead. Six bullet shells were recovered from the site of the shooting.
