A new railway line connecting Rajpura and Mohali in Punjab, estimated to cost Rs 443 crore and span 18 km, has been announced. Additionally, a proposal for a new Vande Bharat train to serve Firozpur Cantt, Bhatinda, Patiala, and Delhi has been put forward. Railway investment in Punjab has significantly increased, rising from Rs 225 crore between 2009 and 2014 to Rs 5,421 crore currently.
